If you were to suddenly find yourself without an income, due to losing your job or being unable to work for health reasons, your lifestyle could change drastically. If you have monthly mortgage repayments to make you would still have to continue meet the costs or risk losing your home to repossession. Loan or credit card repayments would also have to be made too, and you could struggle when it comes to finding the money needed. Income protection could give you the financial security needed each month for a small monthly premium.

A protection policy would replace your lost income up to a certain amount each month. The exact sum you would receive is decided when you take out the cover. A specialist provider will offer the cheapest premiums, which will be based on how much of your income you wish to protect and how old you are when applying for the cover. Along with a quote for the protection, with an independent provider you will also be able to take advantage of the many tips and advice offered by way of articles and FAQs relating to payment protection products. Understanding what you are buying is key to making sure your cover delivers exactly what you need for your circumstances.

Not explaining to the consumer that there are terms and conditions attached to these insurance policies is the main failure that providers have been guilty of in the past, and this is deemed mis-selling. There are some exclusions that are general to all policies and it is essential to check them against your circumstances to be absolutely sure that the policy you are considering would benefit you. Individuals who are self-employed, suffer from an ongoing illness, only work a few hours each week or who are retired might not benefit from taking out cover. However, those who do suffer from an illness should still give some thought to cover if the illness has not been present within the past two years. In addition, a self-employed individual could benefit if they have to cease trading through no fault of their own.

Just as the premiums for income cover varies from provider to provider then so do the exclusions, so it is absolutely imperative that you compare the exclusions along with comparing the cost. Providers can add in their own exclusions too and these can vary considerably. The best independent providers add in very few exclusions and this is what you should check for.

An income protection insurance policy could kick in anywhere between day 30 to 90 of being continually unable to work. Cover is then backdated to the first day of being unable to work, whether that’s due to redundancy or suffering an illness or accident. The majority of policies will last for up to 12 months. There are providers that do extend the payout for up to 24 months, but you can expect to pay a higher premium for this. The terms and conditions will be set out in the key facts of the cover and will include the details of the payout. You should also give some thought to the fact that after the period of protection ends you could still be unfit for work or might not have found another position.

There is a quote that states “you can’t think yourself into a good way of living, you have to live yourself into a good way of thinking.” I happen to agree with this doctrine and I’ll tell you why.

Many people struggle these days with their emotions. Therapists are busy, rehabs are full, and drug dealers are thriving. Why such difficulty with living life on life’s terms these days some may ask? It’s a very good question indeed. More important than the answer to this question is what can be done about it. I will say that I believe that in this rat race we call life people have lost touch with the spiritual aspect of life in their quest to achieve and receive. Most people are too concerned these days with what they can collect monetarily in their short life and have forgotten about the things that really matter. Things like honesty, integrity, brotherly love, humility, are replaced with the long hours at work, the missed holidays, the new car, and other fancy stuff. It’s really too bad, because if more people took the time to slow down and just appreciate what they actually do have rather than focus their energies on obtaining what they don’t have, they’d be a lot happier.

And so, here are a few suggestions that I have come across that I believe can help you be happier, more content, and fulfilled.

1. Live in the moment, live for today. This does not mean that we don’t make plans for the future, it simply suggests you take the time to remember the old saying: If you have one foot in yesterday and one foot in tomorrow, you’re pissing all over today. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not here yet, but we will never have this moment again – so enjoy it while it’s here!

2. Expectations are premeditated resentments! Again, it’s ok to have expectations of others but do a reality check to see if they are realistic. If not you will be sure to be disappointed. The less we expect of others the more serenity we will find in the contentment of our own achievements.

3. Let go and let God. Even if you don’t believe in God, this principle can work for you. We only have so much control over other people, places and things so doesn’t it make sense to trust that maybe there might be something bigger than just our finite selves at work in this universe and turn things over to it’s care when we can’t handle it anymore. Try it, it works!

4. Easy does it! Here is a principle that has worked for me time and time again. So many of us are always in such a rush that we get terribly emotional about the littlest things. It’s a good idea to remember this quote on those days when we are overwhelmed. The sun will still set tonight and rise tomorrow so why not take it easy and enjoy the show?

5. Live and let live. We get really caught up in relationships for many reasons. Lack of communication, past unresolved issues being triggered, waking up on the wrong side of the day. All we really have control over is ourselves, our actions, our life. So let people be who they are because they are going to be anyway, and start enjoying the one person you do have some control over – yourself!

Yes our thinking can affect the way we feel, but if we act according to these principles and others like them we are sure to live a life that will be much more happy, joyous, and free.

An exercise doesn’t have to be complicated or intense to be efficient at burning fat. The following list of fat burning exercises will help you identify simple activities that burn fat and fit your lifestyle.

Walk Away From Flab

Study after study has proven that low-impact exercise, like walking, actually burn more fat calories that high intensity workouts. This means that even people who need to avoid putting stress on their joints can lose weight and burn fat. An extra perk of walking is that pretty much everyone can do it for free.

You can begin by walking for ten to twenty minutes. Walk at a comfortable pace and try and up that pace a little bit every day. Be careful not to over exert yourself. If you can’t carry on a conversation, you are walking too quickly for your fitness level. Until your fitness level improves, just slow down a little bit. If you need to add a boost to your walking workout, add light hand weights. This simple addition will help you gain muscle and burn fat and calories.

Dance Away Fat

Dancing is rapidly becoming a popular exercise choice to burn fat and whittles down waistlines. Plus, dancing can be so much fun that you will completely forget you’re exercising.

A 150 pound person will burn between 103 and 189 calories ballroom dancing and over 200 calories ballet or aerobic dancing in only thirty minutes.

So dance burns calories–how does it do at burning fat? Dance combines fast and slow steps, which forces your body to switch back and forth between aerobic and anaerobic systems that burn fat. When you do fast-steps, you jump start the anaerobic system which uses up the energy stored in your muscles. The slow steps make the aerobic system kick in and convert stored carbohydrates into energy. This burns fat and calories, and also builds muscles which will help burn fat too.

Jogging for Less Jiggle

Another fabulous fat burning activity is jogging. In just 30 minutes of jogging, a 150-pound person will burn 238 calories. You can make jogging into an even better fat burner by incorporating the aerobic/anaerobic switching we just talked about. The first step is to walk at a medium speed for two minutes. After that, switch to a jog for two more minutes. Alternate between walking and jogging for a total of 30 minutes. You’ll burn fat most effectively if you alternate between slow and fast motions which switch the aerobic and anaerobic systems on and off.

Muscling in on Fat

As you read before, additional muscle helps you burn more fat. Muscles accelerate your metabolism, which means you’ll burn more calories. Weightlifting is the all around best way to build muscle.

When you first start, use a very low weight barbell. For most people, 5 pounds is a good starting weight. Test the weight by attempting ten lifts with the barbell. If ten repetitions are a cinch, move up to a heavier weight. If ten repetitions are too difficult, you should use a lighter weight. You can switch out a fat burning exercise with a weightlifting regimen on alternate days.
